Today I got two emails about the same video. First my niece Pixie Tourette bad ass Texas Roller Girl who also has a degree in Physics (and happens to be my niece) sent me an e-mail. Then later my sister sent me the same link.

So I checked it out and laughed my ass off!

Unariya Beben - The Grinding Shamisen

This is a video my two year old twins love and I have to say I dig it too.

Unariya Beben basically translates to the grinding Shamisen. A Shamisen is a traditional Japanese instrument with three strings that is played with a pick. A lot of Westerners find it annoying, but I have to say that when you hear it played well, it is really cool.

This guy mixes traditional Japanese music with rock to make an interesting sound. If that weren't enough I think his outfit is pretty funny too. The words are classical Japanese (kind of like Shakespeare's English). The refrain is "This is a really good place."
