I usually don't review singles because there just isn't that much to go on when you hear one song, but I found this guy's e-mail just so annoying I thought I'd give him a listen.

Let's start with the e-mail. I'm happy he personally wanted to introduce himself. Is it really personal when it's a form letter? Its been my experience that the more a band or in this case a Spyder tells you how great and blisteringly hot (I guess adding multiple Ts makes it even hotter.) the music is, chances are that it sucks in a direct correlation to the hype. This is no exception.

On to the music. I'll give him this, the song is well produced. Having said that I prefer music that involves people playing instruments instead of yelling over something done on a computer in a studio. (His drum machine was on beat though.) What this amounts to is an extended version of cheesy pick-up lines while computer generated sounds play in a loop in the background. We got any sexy ladies who like to role play?
I would have liked it so much better if there were a real bass laying down the bottom and perhaps some horns or a killer guitar jam. (I remember being blown away by Prince, because the man CAN play - even when all my buddies were down on him because it wasn't "Rock and Roll" I remember saying "Dudes, that little poon-hound can rip it up.") Unfortunately where as Prince when he hit a long time ago made me smile and say "Boom - there it is! This guy has soul!" Spyder makes me simply say "Wow the song is still going on."
Grouch Rating 1 scowl for the level of production - it is produced well. Bummer that the music doesn't match the production level.
