Moon Palace EP Redefine
An acquaintance of mine who is from France gave me a copy of a CD called Redefine by a group called Moon Pallas. I'd never heard of these guys; in fact the only French band I know anything about is a band named Noire Desire - I really liked their music ; someone told me that the singer in that band was in jail in France for killing someone. I have no idea if that is true, but it would explain why I haven't heard any new music from the band.
That has nothing to do with Moon Pallas.
When I Googled this record I found the text below:
Since I do not understand French I choose the ultra speedy Google auto-translation of the text and I found this:
If all roads lead to rum Poitiers then we necessarily leads to good group. I want once again to demonstrate, the group Moon Pallas. An evocative name and a 4 titles that do not leave indifferent fans of electro pop classieuse. Indeed this autoprod 'compositions unveils thin and elegant, dotted with sensuous grooves, the group is also distinguished by a refinement in the arrangements and a voice that of Malik. With so much potential and musicality, the album should confirm this new little star of pop made in france, pointing the tip of his nose.
I think I have a pretty good command of the English language but I'm still not really sure what this means.
On to the record; this EP has four songs.

I think they are singing in English. Musically it doesn't completely suck. The drum machine is right on beat. The music reminds me of Steely Dan if they had the synthesizer guy from Soft Cell sitting in, except I like Steely Dan and dig some of what Soft Cell did.
I keep thinking of the Saturday Night Live skit " Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance."
The person who wrote/arranged the songs put a lot of thought into it. The tracks are all very melodic. I think Bruno the Gay Austrian would dig this stuff.
I'm not sure how many scowls to give it on the Grouch scale - I've never gone into negative scowls. I guess the drum machine deserves a scowl.
